Essential Self-Care:

Powerlessness or Empowerment?

Managing anxiety is like building a muscle: the more you train, the stronger you become. And, when you need to do some heavy lifting, you're prepared.

Anxiety is often connected to thoughts of loss of control. Managing anxiety includes knowing what you can control and the willingness to take the action steps necessary.

Take these steps today to build your muscles.

1. Identify underlying thoughts that are contributing to your anxious feelings by spending a few minutes of quiet time with yourself and pen and paper.

2. Take an action step that counteracts the thoughts from Step 1.

For example, if you're having fears of getting sick, clean your home or office with disinfectants. If you're having financial fears, make a list of your marketable skills. If you're worried about a loved one's health, call them and tell them what they mean to you.

TAPPING THERAPY: Here's a powerful action step you can take today.

You’ve probably heard about Tapping Therapy. It's received great reviews due to its effectiveness and quick results with anxiety, fears, stress, phobias, mood swings, PTSD, addictions, and more.

It’s a do-it-yourself technique, based in ancient eastern medicine, in which you use tapping into your own body's energy centers to heal yourself.

Here's a link to a website that describes it well and includes a video to show you just how to do it. www.jackcanfield.com/blog/tapping-therapy/
